Gregg Hildebrandt, age 77 of Minneapolis, passed away on Friday, Dec., 15, 2017 at the Community Memorial Home in Osakis, MN.
Gregg was born on October 28, 1940 in Faribault, MN to Curtis and Iona (Paulson) Hildebrandt. He graduated from Rosemont High School with the Class of 1959 and attended the University of MN. After completing his associate degree, Gregg was hired by the University working as a laboratory coordinator. Gregg never married and lived in Dinkytown for over thirty years, riding his bicycle to work as long as the weather permitted. He was a member of the Rosemont Methodist Church and belonged to the Friends of the Library. All of his life, Gregg was a voracious reader and was well known at the local libraries. He truly loved books and furthering his knowledge. His other interests included bowling and bicycling. Gregg moved to the Osakis area in 2012 and was currently a resident at the Galeon. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Pat Hildebrandt of Osakis; two nephews, Curtis & Staci Hildebrandt of Evansville, IN and Kellen Hildebrandt of South Minneapolis; a great niece, Addi Hildebrandt and a great nephew, John Hildebrandt. Preceding him in death are his parents and brothers, an infant, Patrick Hildebrandt and John Hildebrandt.
Memorials are preferred to the University of MN Biomedical Library or the American Diabetes Foundation.
