CMH News: Residents host retirement party for Janice Doucette

Week of Jan. 29-Feb. 4:

On Sunday morning, a non-denominational worship service led by Steve Fredrickson was held at Terrace Heights Chapel. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped and to those who conducted a Catholic communion service.

Bingo was played at Terrace Heights on Monday afternoon.

Father David Petron of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Osakis and St. Nicholas of Belle River celebrated Mass on Tuesday morning at Terrace Heights Chapel.

The rosary was prayed before Mass. Assisting were Pat Mohror, Joyce Klimek, Kathy Berg and Loretta Becker.

On Tuesday afternoon, we showed the movie "Shane," starring Alan Ladd, a good old Western movie.

Farkle and Yahtzee were played on Wednesday morning. Bingo was played at West View on Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Steve Hilde of Salem, Sauk Valley and Little Sauk Lutheran churches conducted a chapel and communion service after bingo at CMH.

Several manicures were done on Thursday morning during Nifty Nails. Thanks to Karen Vogh for her help.

The Osakis Review was read before dinner. The Rev. Steve Hilde led a Bible study. The Viking Library Bookmobile stopped here.

The Country Couple, Larry and Mary Lou Simpson, entertained on Thursday afternoon. They played many old country and gospel songs.

Bingo was played on Friday afternoon. After bingo, we had Janice Doucette's retirement party. Sorry to see you leave, Janice. We will all miss you. Thank you for your many years of work.

Jessica Sly has been working as a content writer at the Echo Press since May 2012, contributing, proofreading and editing content for both the Echo and Osakis Review. A Wadena native, she graduated from Verndale High School in 2009 and worked that summer at the Wadena Pioneer Journal as an intern reporter. She attended Northwestern College in St. Paul (now the University of Northwestern - St. Paul), where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in writing and a minor in Bible. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano (and learning the violin), reading, writing novels, going to the movies, and exploring Alexandria.
