Franson joins March for Life event at Capitol
State Rep. Mary Franson, R-Alexandria, took part in the March for Life at the Minnesota State Capitol on Jan. 22.
Hosted by Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life, the event marks the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, commemorating the lives lost to abortion and advocating to protect all humans including unborn children and their mothers.
In a statement, Franson said that the sanctity of life is sacred, and "we are called upon to protect those who cannot protect themselves."
Franson said she is inspired by Psalm 139:13-17 and quoted it: "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast in the sum of them!"
The 2018 session is set to begin on Feb. 20. Franson can be reached by phone at 651-296-3201 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
